How do I book an appointment?
Please fill out the following request booking form, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. After reviewing your email and submission, we can discuss scheduling a consultation or an appointment.
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date and time. Appointments can be booked up to three months in advance.
Once I receive your deposit, we’ll go over the design elements of your tattoo.
When submitting your request, please include:
A brief description of the tattoo
The size and placement you have in mind
At least three reference images to help me understand the style you’re going for
How much does it cost to get a tattoo?
There is no set cost for a tattoo, as pricing can vary greatly depending on several factors such as size, level of detail, placement on the body, and overall design complexity. Each piece is unique, and I take the time to ensure that your tattoo reflects your vision and is tailored specifically to you.
The best way to receive an accurate price estimate is by filling out the booking request form. This allows me to review your ideas, reference images, and desired placement so I can provide a more personalized quote based on the amount of time and work involved.
Please keep in mind that smaller, simpler designs typically require less time and will be on the lower end of the pricing scale, while larger or more intricate pieces—especially those with fine detail or color—may take multiple sessions to complete.
I’m more than happy to answer any questions and help guide you through the process so you feel comfortable and informed every step of the way. My goal is to create a piece of art that you’ll love for years to come.
How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?
You must be at least 18 years old to get a tattoo. It is against Illinois state law to tattoo anyone under the age of 18, even with parental consent.
All clients are required to present a valid, government-issued photo ID that includes both your name and date of birth. Acceptable forms of identification include a driver’s license, state ID, or passport.
Please note that school IDs, temporary IDs, or any forms of identification without a birthdate and photo will not be accepted. This policy is in place to comply with state regulations and ensure a safe, professional experience for every client.
What do I do if I need to cancel an appointment?
If you need to reschedule a future appointment, we kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice. Failure to provide sufficient notice will result in the forfeiture of your deposit. Additionally, clients who do not show up for their appointment will be required to pay in full for any future appointments in advance.
For cancellations, we also require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Please note that all deposits are non-refundable, even in the event of a cancellation.
These policies are in place to ensure that scheduling remains fair and efficient for all clients, and to allow us to dedicate proper time and attention to each tattoo.
What forms of payments are accepted?
We accept cash or credit cards (visa, mastercard, discover, american express etc). However, we will not accept checks.
How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
I highly recommend eating a meal shortly before your appointment. Being well-nourished helps maintain your energy and comfort during the session, which can sometimes last several hours depending on your design.
It is also important to stay properly hydrated. Drinking water in the hours leading up to your appointment keeps your skin in better condition, aids in the tattooing process, and can help reduce discomfort.
I strongly advise avoiding alcohol the night before your appointment. Alcohol thins your blood, which can prolong bleeding for up to 24 hours. Excessive bleeding can dilute tattoo pigments, negatively affecting both the appearance of your tattoo and the healing process. Additionally, alcohol can increase sensitivity or discomfort during the session.
For these reasons, maintaining a clear, well-rested, and hydrated state ensures that I can work efficiently and safely, giving you the best results possible.
Can I bring my children with me while I am getting tattooed?
In accordance with Illinois health department regulations, children are not permitted in the studio. This policy is in place for several important reasons.
Primarily, it ensures the safety of your children, as a tattoo studio contains sharp tools, chemicals, and other materials that could be hazardous to minors. It also allows me to maintain a focused and safe working environment, so I can give each client the full attention and care their tattoo deserves.
Additionally, this policy considers the comfort and experience of other clients. A calm, professional atmosphere helps everyone feel at ease during their appointment and ensures that the studio remains a space conducive to concentration, creativity, and quality work.
I appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this policy. By keeping children out of the studio, I can provide a safe, comfortable, and professional environment for everyone.
How long does a tattoo take to heal?
Your tattoo will typically begin to look healed within 7 to 10 days, as the surface of the skin starts to regenerate and any initial redness or swelling begins to subside. However, it is important to understand that full healing can take up to 4 weeks. During this time, the deeper layers of your skin are still repairing themselves, and your tattoo is continuing to settle.
To ensure the best possible healing and long-lasting results, it is crucial to avoid exposing your tattoo to direct sunlight or soaking it in water—such as swimming pools, hot tubs, or baths—until the skin has fully healed. Doing so too early can cause fading, infection, or damage to the tattooed area.
Proper aftercare during this healing period is essential. Following the recommended cleaning, moisturizing, and protective measures will help preserve the vibrancy of your tattoo, prevent complications, and ensure that your new artwork looks its absolute best for years to come.
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! A friend is always welcome to accompany you for moral support during your appointment. Having someone there can help you feel more relaxed and comfortable, especially if it’s your first tattoo or a larger session.
To ensure a smooth and focused environment for everyone in the studio, I ask that you limit your guest to one person. This helps prevent distractions for both myself and other clients who are receiving tattoos. A calm and professional atmosphere allows me to concentrate fully on your design and provide the best possible results, while ensuring all clients feel comfortable and respected.
I appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this guideline. Your friend’s support is important, but keeping the studio environment focused ensures that everyone has a safe and positive experience.
Do tattoos hurt?
Getting a tattoo can be uncomfortable, and the level of discomfort varies from person to person. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, and some areas of the body are naturally more sensitive than others. Common sensitive areas include places with thinner skin, closer to bone, or with more nerve endings, while areas with thicker skin or more muscle may feel less intense.
In most cases, many clients find that the experience is less painful than they initially expect, especially when they are relaxed and prepared. It’s important to stay calm, breathe steadily, and communicate with me throughout the session if anything feels too uncomfortable.
If you are concerned about pain, I also offer numbing agents for an additional cost. These can be applied to the area being tattooed to help minimize discomfort and make your session more manageable. While numbing does not completely eliminate sensations, it can make the process significantly more comfortable, especially for larger or more sensitive tattoos.
Ultimately, I strive to ensure that your experience is as comfortable as possible while creating a tattoo you’ll be proud of. Proper preparation, patience, and care during the session all contribute to a smoother, less stressful experience.
